5 REASONS YOU NEED TO INSTALL HOTBIRD 13 SATELLITES

Do you know that on every satellite has a channel package meant to meet one’s needs? Do you also know that your decoder can take up to more than 1000 programmable channels? This implies you can always install more satellites or dishes. Hot bird 13 is one of the satellites you have to consider when installing any satellite or dishes.

1.       100+ channels

Of course this satellite channel has more than 100 channels to scroll through and enjoy. Ranging from News, Cartoons, Nigeria Movies, Block Buster Movies, Telenovelas, Gospel just to mention a few. There is something probably you would love to watch. Customers always love to enjoy something free yet of good quality or much contents. For instance a customer would prefer to buy the Strong decoder instead of Multitv because ‘My tv’ or Strong has ‘many’ channels than the Multitv. In that vein, you would probably love to install this satellite too. The fortunate thing is that, there are no preferences in the decoders. Provided it is a Free to Air decoder. Some channels are in French too, perhaps you love the French culture and the language, consider Hot bird 13.

2.       Sports.

It is left with barely 4 weeks for the Barclays Premier League to begin as others like La liga would follow soon. Oromio Tv, 2Stv among others show live football matches. Whether it be the English League, French League, Champions League or the Fa Cup, you would have some football matches to enjoy at least. Though this channels are not a dedicated sports channel, they d o well to show live matches fortunately.

3.       Emmanuel Tv

This channel has proven to be stable for some time now on Hot bird 13. You already know of Intelsat 68.5 commonly known as ‘Strong’. For the lovers of Emmanuel tv, you could consider watching Emmanuel Tv from this satellite too. More often than not, some customers complain of the ‘Strong’ channels been purely Christian or gospel channels full of preaching. This is true in that the FTA channels offer that; unlike the paid channels on ‘Strong’, where you have real entertainment to ponder over. Since most would love the FTA, I would concentrate on that instead. The Emmanuel Tv channel on Hotbird is one I would recommend for customers who would love to watch Emmanuel tv and yet enjoy some other entertaining stuffs. Due to the variety of programmes been offered, I bet you would love it.

4.       Movies

This particular satellite has some channels that show the Nigerian channels 24/7. They are of good qualities and very entertaining. Ranging from comedy, romance, spiritual to action. Also, there are channels which show American movies as well. Unfortunately, these Action movies may be in French language. But some channels which show the movies have it in English too. In terms of Cartoons, you are covered. The Dsny Xd channel on Dstv is often broadcasted on this satellite too. There are also the Cartoon Network, Boomerang and several others. If you love Tele novellas, you may want to install this satellite too. Ranging from ‘Pryia’ to ‘The Promise’. A whole lot is being shown indeed. The latter though is in English language. All of these have different channels to show on. There is nothing to worry about.

5.       News

Finally, BBC, Aljazeera, CNN, DW Tv and just to mention a few all are on these satellites. If you are the lover of World news, you may want to give it a try. There are specific channels dedicated to the news broadcast as well as on time basis. Of course the News is in English, and it happens live as when you are watching it on Dstv or Sky decoder. Every breaking news, happening events, recurring stories; I bet you would be the first to hear it.

There are some other channels which are into music, gospel, national geography and several others.

NB: Please note that the above channels are not 100% stable. It can be removed or go scrambled at anytime without prior notice. Until then, I would recommend them.

5 MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT FTA SATELLITE RECIEVERS LIKE MULTITV, STRONG, QSAT AND OTHERS

‘It is only a fool who would not use the same yards of cloth to cover himself during cold weathers but always lie on it’ says one school of thought. FTA satellite receivers have been doing a great work. This is because they allow for other satellites to be installed on them. However, there are some misconceptions that consumers have laboured within themselves. Apart from Dstv, Canal + among few others, most satellite receivers in Ghana are FTA.

1.       Firstly, Strong decoder to most customers is for strong channels only. Which I greatly disapprove off absolutely. A colleague of mine told me he installed Multi tv for one Customer on the Strong decoder and there was a misunderstanding thereafter. The customer claims Strong decoders are for Strong only meanwhile, he did not specify which he wanted to be installed. In one other case, he installed a strong channel for a different customer using a strong decoder and he was disgusted with him though he explained to him the channels it has. And so many other examples to think about. Strong decoder is from Strong, but they do not own the FTA channels solely. This means it can be viewed on different FTA decoders around the world. One can use Slicker Sat to view Strong channels without any difficulties. Maybe the name ‘Strong’ would make you rush for it, it is ok. Nevertheless, you do not have to buy Multitv receiver when you want to watch those channels. Just go in for an LNB or a dish and there you are. However, do not forget to get a disceq switch if you do not have one. Better still, asks your installer to help you get them or contact me for one.

2.       Secondly, Multitv is among the most widely used decoders in Ghana. Since they have their own channels as such to telecast, it does not necessarily imply that it takes only their channels. You may have head of Azsky Dongle. As of the time that Azsky was working well, one could easily add either G1+ or G1 super to Multi tv Ca plus Series and enjoy the Dstv channels on it. That was what was done to cut down the cost of watching Dstv since Q-sat was a bit costive and not stable then. The same Multitv decoder can be used to view all FTA strong channels. These are over 100 channels so to speak. Though most of them are Gospel, it is enjoyable. You would here many tell you, “Multi tv is boring”. It should not be a problem, just order for a different satellite to be installed. That’s all.

3.       Thirdly, Q-sat has done well to establish itself as a Dstv and Canal Sat based decoder in West Africa. With an account on it, one could easily watch full Premium channels on it. However, as you may know, Multi tv, Strong among others can be viewed on it. This is not hugely contested since it does go scramble often, installers do advise additional satellites been installed. Though it came with Dstv in mind, hopefully, you can use it to watch Canal + too. If you try using it for the Champion Tv channels, only the FTA would open.

4.       Fourthly, Wiztech is a new decoder in the system though they have survived for long. This particularly, you would not hear a customer demand you give him Wiztech channels. It came during the times that Azsky was working perfectly. For it does open them quickly. This is due to the fact that, it has an RS232 port behind. You can hopefully get this decoder at a cool price from D-tymes Technologies.

5.       On the final note, Slicker Sat, which is an S2 and T2 decoder is noted for its 90cm dish wide. There was a high demand though not for the decoder but the dish when Being Sport can be tracked using 75 and 90cm parabolic reflectors. This one too is good for viewing FTA channels with the T2 optional; you would know your digital channels are secured. It does not come purposely with its own channels as Hotbird 13 does. It may cost high a bit but one thing to note is that, you can use a small dish for it too; with respect to the Sat you want to track.

On the whole, Strong and Multitv can work obviously the same. Only Dstv, Canal + among others whose decoders are not FTA. Even that, they have FTA channels on them for viewing; peradventure not to keep you boring when your 1 month or so subscription has expired.

Have you any other possible FTA Satellite Decoders you think I have left behind; want to ask any question, you can hopefully state it below in the ‘Have your say’ section.

7 THINGS YOUR INSTALLER DOES NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW

“It is only the hunter who knows what actually happens in the forest” one school of thought claims. Installers generally have a way of relating to a customer. Depending on so many factors like experiences, motive, mood among others. However, there are 7 things they would wish you do not know yet.

1.      Installers are profit conscious. In cases where you have to buy a particular good, there are of course same goods on the market but different prices. They are all in any case substitutes. For instance a Disec switch. One store will sell it at GHC 20.00 whiles another store may sell it at GHC 25.00. The fact is that one store too may actually sell it at GHC 10.00. In this case the installer would prefer to mention or refer you to the store which sells it at GHC 25.00. And when you do know where it can be sold at GHC 20.00, he tells you it is not of a good quality.

2.      It is a natural phenomenon to always want to work with different people in as much you keep your old customers. They sometimes when called upon to solve a particular problem would notice a different one which may begin to show up some few weeks later or months. When he is through with the required work called upon. He would not tell you of the upcoming one which could be easily prevented fully or at a low cost. The assumption is that different work, different charge. So he would probably not give you his expert advice on making that problem dissolve. Instead for another day.

3.      Installers do not want to be questioned much. Yes, that is the fact. He wants you to just relax and watch what he does. Not complaining, commenting, or questioning. Sometimes it looks like you want to bite more than you can chew. So he might not like it definitely.

4.      In some cases, like signal loses, you would probably not want to pay much after a heavy cost in first time installation. Depending on the installer, he can choose to charge you high though the work required to be done are minimal. Peradventure the coaxial cable running from the dish to your decoder has removed from the connector. So it shows bad or no signal. As a lame man, you would think it is from the dish. Probably because a wind blew heavy yesterday before the rain began. So when you call him, since very experienced, he can detect where the problem is coming from with just some few checking not necessarily touching the dish. If it happens so you would prefer paying him small which he would not like. To end all those dramas, he would climb up, temper with the dish for about 30 minutes whiles asking you to check for signal quality. Come in and run some settings from the menu for about 10 minutes and then finally re-fix the coaxial cable which removed from the decoder’s back. Just to make sure he has done some really good work meanwhile he could actually do that on coming. So you see you may be compelled to pay high after the whole process meanwhile a little could have been ok.

5.      Installers like to really convince customers that they know best in their field. For instance telling you that he can install 4 LNB’s on one dish. Installing over 100 channels for you which are Free to Air {FTA} among others. Generally, a good installer should know how to convince a customer who may not be willing to buy or do so after all. If you ask a Marketing Student, you will hear “business strategy”. Where as you may not be ready to get a particular work done today, for persuasion, you would obviously. This is one of the techniques they employ.

6.      Charging based on statue or wealthy nature. I know this is not fair. Nevertheless, when an installer finds out that you have enough money on you, he will be tempted to give you high prices of things definitely you are not aware when needs buying. Or even the cost for installation, signal lost among others, he will probably charge you high if it reminds him that you have bunch. Vice-versa when you are not all that rich, he may consider and give you moderate prices for your statue sakes.

7.      Finally, though very bad on their side, you could imagine yourself calling them every two weeks or a month after a new installation has been done. Sometimes, an installer may not render to you a professional service. In that, he does a shoddy work after all. It means that peradventure allowing the bolt and nuts holding the angle bar to be loose behind the dish, using few nails to hold the stand, giving you a low signal quality among others. These obviously mean you have to call them back after a month because it has not been done well. If you are not lucky, you would be charged high to see them do it for you again. The worst of all is that the trend may continue in that after 3 or 4 months you have to call them again, why, there is a heavy downpour of rain.

Have you any other possible reasons you think I have left behind; want to ask any question, you can hopefully state it below in the ‘Have your say’ section.
